School Locked Down After Teen Shot In Harrisburg In Broad Daylight: Police

A teen is in the hospital after being shot in Harrisburg at noon on Thursday, Oct. 24, city police announced.

Officers had been called to a report of shots fired at the intersection of North Thirteenth & Herr streets. They arrived to find the juvenile boy suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Downey Elementary School, located at 1313 Monroe Street was briefly on lockdown due to the “incident”, a spokesperson for Harrisburg School District said.

He was taken to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition. 

An investigation is ongoing.
